DAVID 2O24
DAVID MICHAEL OLSCAMP
Let's shake things up
David is an outdoor enthusiast and small business owner. He grew up playing ice hockey and thrived outside, becoming an Eagle Scout. He's never loved convention, graduating from college in two years and going on directly to Vanderbilt Law. After paying off his student loans, he launched his own business and has been his own boss ever since. David is a lawyer and finance expert, a consensus builder, and passionate about spending time outdoors with friends and family.
While he'd be honored to serve our country, that isn't the goal.
The goal is to make enough of a splash (e.g., winning delegates) at the Idaho Democratic Presidential Caucus that party leadership, including President Biden, starts seriously discussing whether we have the best ticket to win in November.

Make everyday life affordable
$12 cereal? No thanks. Our country is run by the rich and out of touch, many of whom who haven't stepped foot into a supermarket in years, who own multiple homes and cash in from absurd housing prices, and who don't understand what normal folks are dealing with just to provide their families a decent life. We need to hold price gouging big corporations accountable for greedflation on basic goods and make home ownership attainable.

Bring our country back together
Our country needs a leader who can put an end to all the partisan squabbles. We need to heal as a nation, come together, and forge a new course forward together.

Our Duty to Organize Victory
Let me first thank everyone I’ve had the pleasure of meeting during my travels. I’m just a small business owner from Colorado looking to bring about big conversations and you all have been exceedingly welcoming. There’s no campaign bus, no getting ferried around in fancy jets or campaign advance teams, just a lot of driving, exploring Idaho by bike, and conversations. For all of you who have opened your homes to host a tired traveler, I thank you.
All those miles were traveled for a reason: so we don’t hand the election to Donald Trump. And the course we’re on, we’re doing exactly that. With RFK Jr. (independent) and Jill Stein (Green Party) on the ballot in Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, we lose, badly. Kennedy brings the name, his VP pick Shanahan brings the cash, greedflation and absurd housing costs bring the disillusionment; Stein pulls additional votes from Biden. Trump sweeps six out of seven swing states, game over.
In his “Democrats Have a Better Option Than Biden” audio essay, Ezra Klein lays out an alternative path: going on the offensive.
His vision is an open convention, where delegates at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago would “organize victory”. (selecting a new nominee, building a dream ticket). As for that ticket, he floats a list of party talent such as governors Wes Moore (Maryland) and Gretchen Whitmer (Michigan) and transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Together, the party would create a ticket purpose-built to energize voters, sideline Kennedy and Stein, and defeat Trump. A ticket to organize victory.
But how do we get there? First, President Biden would need to be on board and bless the idea. But how does that happen? Personally, I think Joe will always do what he believes is best for the country, he might just need a little nudge to get there. Hopefully the Idaho presidential caucuses can serve as that nudge.
It would be a nudge to change history, a proactive move to avoid another RBG moment, and an opportunity that is in your hands Idaho.
Together, let’s organize victory.
